I just returned from a spectacular trip to Pictured Rocks in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The natural beauty along the shores of Lake Superior was breathtaking. My wife and I are not artists, but both of us were totally inspired to create artwork that would help us save the beauty we were experiencing. My thoughts immediately went to artist, John Adam Spelman, American painter (1880 -1941). His paintings are the products of his inspiration from his Lake Superior experience in Minnesota. I now understand his paintings on a whole different level. His inspiration was not limited to Lake Superior. He also painted mountain scenes of eastern Tennessee, and the Smokey Mountains of North Carolina. I am pleased to be able to offer two of his paintings for you to enjoy. My guess is that if you have felt the influence of natural beauty, there is a place in your home for a Spelman painting.
